Hypnotherapy

Textbook Definition of Hypnotherapy

"Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness which lies between the waking state and sleep.  It is generally brought about in an individual by the use of a combination of concentration, relaxation, suggestion, and expectation." (Allen S. Chips, DCH, PhD, "Clinical Hypnotherapy, A Transpersonal Approach", Ch. 1, page 17).  Each of us enters a trance state at least twice daily: when we are waking in the morning and as we fall asleep at bedtime.
